KAPINOVO MONASTERY

This was the place where I spent long summer months in my childhood. The nuns would take me to see the tiny little chickens in the farm, they taught me how to milk the cows, and how to cut the tall grass (which was almost as tall as me) with a sickle. My favourite nun was sister Rafailka, who was always so kind. I thought she was beautiful although there was sadness on her face. I used to wonder what sad thing had happened to her. But I was too young and too timid to ask. She passed away when I was 15.
